MAKING YOUR VOICE HEARD ON
PUBLIC POLICY IN NEW JERSEY
WHY SHOULD I GET INVOLVED?
For too long, Christians have voluntarily removed themselves from the political arena. Ironically, those with the greatest passion for the family have opted out of the political process, leaving the debate over our nation’s values to those who reject Biblical truths and family values. The results have been disastrous – for the family, for our state, for the nation. The social implications are staggering. We have seen skyrocketing increases in teen pregnancy and sexual activity, abortion, crime, divorce, illiteracy, drug use and the homosexual movement to radically redefine marriage. As the moral fabric of our society unravels, it is increasingly clear that each of us needs to recommit ourselves to the fight for family values. While that fight begins in our own lives and homes, it must also extend to the rules by which we govern our society.
Fighting and winning the battle on behalf of the family requires action by concerned citizens. We all have the privilege and duty to make our voices heard. And Christians are called to be “salt and light” in our world — not only in churches, but in the political process as well. (Matthew 5:13-16). The New Jersey Family Policy Council and New Jersey Family First (NJFPC’s legislative advocacy arm) are dedicated to providing concerned citizens with the research, timely information and expertise needed to effectively influence public policy. Our mission is to strengthen the family by educating New Jerseyans on public policy issues that impact the family and by equipping them to promote traditional family values.
We challenge you to join us in our mission and take a stand for the family.
